Photostat Machine are Adam and Nik, based between London and Edinburgh. The cryptic 'Inside #9' is taken from the duo's fourth album, Deadly, an album filled with more than enough gorgeous, clever electronics and bleepy analogue-sounding squelches to satisfy the most ardent electro purist, while the delicate vocal harmonies evoke comparisons with I Start Counting / Fortran 5 / Komputer. Photostat Machine join that select group of synth duos capable of adding genuine soul and emotion to their music, making for sublime - if not heartwrenchingly deadly - results.
