Komabase is the alias of Germany's Dennis Fenselau, whose minimal techno leanings have found receptive homes at several labels, including Cicuta, Slap Jaxx and Sickvillage, while Dave Clarke has featured Komabase tracks in his radio shows. Influenced by the likes of Jeff Mills, Robert Hood and Sleeparchive, Komabase pays homage to the structure and sound of classic techno whilst offering a hypnotic twist that is entirely his own. Since 2011 he has been engaged in a distance collaboration with Ryogo Yamamori, as well as recording tracks with Romplex and RRKS. 'Expectations', his track for MuteResponse, is previously unreleased and was recorded especially for the album.
