about
The Elixirists, a trio of Dorian Wilde (programming, synths, vocals), Tom Purdue (vocals, beats, synths, loops, poetry) and Kami Carrillo (vocals), hail from Salt Lake City. Finding a release in imported 12" singles from Mute and other labels, the three members have been active in bands since the late Eighties, finally coming together to form The Elixirists in 2009. Taking cues from a diverse set of influences that include everything from Nine Inch Nails to Yazoo, The Elixirists describe their music, appropriately, as electro-blues. 'Backmask', their track for MuteResponse, showcases a dark and powerful mystique, like summoning demons through pulsing electronics.
